Volunteer

There are many volunteer opportunities at VIVA. As you can imagine, with 150 cats, we always need help cleaning the adoption center. If you'd prefer not to smell of bleach, consider volunteering to spend time petting cats. It may not sound like a big job, but it's an important one. Most cats are more content when they get a bit of individualized attention, and we want to keep our cats happy. After all, they're the reason we do this. If you're partial to kittens and have your own home, you might like to be a foster parent.

Perhaps you're allergic to cats, but would still like to help (although there are several volunteers who brave their allergies to work at the cattery). Sue Davids, our Fundraising Coordinator, could use your help setting up and running our monthly yard sales. We'd also like to start selling donated items on Ebay. Would you like to be our Ebay administrator? If you have a working knowledge of Dreamweaver, how about helping the Webmaster keep our website up to date? Do you have a new digital camera you'd like to break in? Come take photos of the cats for our website. (WARNING: Cats sometimes resist having their photos taken.) Every month, we send out 1800 newsletters. Would you mind folding a few (hundred)?

Do you plumb, run wires, or pound nails? Are you a gardener? We always have routine maintenance to be done around the adoption center, and we're expanding our facilities at our feral sanctuary as well. Whether you're an experienced do-it-yourselfer or a tradesperson, we have a job equivalent to your skill level.
